I used to use bitlord but nowadays use bitcomet, which do you guys use and why?

Yes. Please flesh it up for us. And don't forget to give us your life story. We need to know everything about you and why you want to do something before we give you any advice.
I use the old timey Utorrent 2.0.4 because it's stable, has no ads, and has worked at maximum efficiency for me for years now. I rarely if ever have a problem with it, and I always get the maximum speeds from it, uploading and dowloading, and it works great.

µTorrent 2.2.1, it does everything I need it to do and nothing that I don't want it to do.
Just as stated by Joew771, no ads, no nags, and a clean intuitive GUI.
The last useful feature added to a torrent client, IMO, was the ability to download Magnet Links,
after that it's been all useless "Bells & Whistles".

I personally like Tixati.
It's not pretty, it's a very unpopular client for private trackers, but it is easy to setup and I really like the option for choosing which network adapter to allow traffic through.

Transmission.
Not only is the software operable on GNU/Linux and OSX platforms, it's operable on Windows.

Just make sure that you're using the latest version, which at this time is 2.92, and that the extension is .msi.
It has both x86 and x64 architectures.

I use Qbittorent for the same reason, allowing me to choose which interface to send through...for which I select a vpn tunnel. This way I do not have to force all traffic through the vpn and if it goes down...no big deal.

Yes, uTorrent works all round with both private and public. A good start if you new. Keep in mind you want 2.2.1 or below.

Another great option with an amazing ability to find files withing the client with channels. It is a bit of a resource hog. I tend to use it when downloading files with copyright trolls because of the amazing blocking features.

Has not crashed on me once, definitively the best client for MAC's all around. I also enjoy this client as it supports everything, with a minimal footprint on your machine.

The very best open source alternative to uTorrent, being easy to handle and giving you the best seeding speeds for public torrents.
I would also want to note Deluge is good for private trackers and high speed seedboxes as it can handle the high speeds like a boss.
WINNER: Transmission takes home the win for being open source and an excellent handler across Linux, PC, MAC. It also works for me as it is a hybrid client.

it seems the best bittorrent client is ruTorrent. It is highly stable, runs really well for months and months. Connects to services like DHT about as good as you'll get. You can run channels in it also. Seems to be the standard for most Bittorrent Servers these days. Have tried other clients like Deluge but had problems with DHT with that and also no channels either. Without channels you can't limit your seeds so if you're on a fast connection you won't be able to control it all properly.
I have been running ruTorrent for some time now, it just seems to work. Windows clients are okay but it's better in Linux otherwise you will run into all kinds of Windows problems. Linux is better for Seedboxes really imagine trying to run a seedbox on Windows lol

There is no "best." It depends on your situation: which OS you use, public vs private trackers, seedbox vs desktop, etc.
On the desktop (linux) I use Deluge, and have for years. It's no frills and gets the job done quickly and efficiently.
On my old seedbox I used rtorrent with the rutorrent webui. I have yet to find a better option for a seedbox, but qbittorent gets a runner up prize.

We will be having different clients considered as "best" since we have different styles.
For me, I use two versions of uTorrent. This is the first client I used and it already gives what I want so it's my best.
Just for downloading, I use the latest version since there are seeders updating their clients and to allow a legacy connection is not forced to them. Old clients often get stuck at downloading metadata from latest client versions.
For uploading and other activities, I use uTorrent 1.8 since there are downloaders still using old clients and they'll get stuck at downloading metadata if I use the latest.
Have not experience trouble from latest downloading from old clients so using an old client when uploading will have no problem to a mixture of downloaders using old and new client versions.
