(This post was last modified: Dec 23, 2017, 10:38 am by Riffling. Edited 1 time in total.)
I've created a new sync for BvS. I did employ auto-ducking as, even with normalization, this movie is all-over the place with volume. This is exacerbate by the RiffTrax track as well as some riffers volume is noticeably louder/quieter than others - even within a pair like with Ian and Matt, Matt's voice is way quieter (and sounds like he's using a $5 mic). I'd like the ducking to be less-noticeable and am open to improvements (basically I did a -3db normalization on main audio and then with auto-ducking I did a 600ms fade and -12db duck using Audition CC).
I'm actually working on a second encode which will improve the video and audio quality and increase the size as I think this one is too bit-starved but I also know there is a crowd for small file sizes so I've uploaded this in the meantime (and the encode is going to be another 12 hours or so). I'll also include the non-riffed audio in that one.
Smaller: 1080p BDRip 1.87 GB
Official: 1080p BDRip 2.61 GB - includes non-riffed audio, subtitles and chapters.

hey riffling!
i hear you my friend. saint bsg's elves have been greatly challenged by the lots of extra voices and recording environments in the bvs mp3.
also, it seems that cole and janet's portion does not have true silence in between their riffs like with normal rifftrax mp3s.
there's quite a bit of inter-riff noise for their section that blossoms into very hear-able junk sounds if the level speech compression effect is used like i do.
the fix for a level speech issue with their part of the mp3? manually. silence. every. space. between. their. riffs. ugh! but it worked out in the end i think. (fingers crossed!)
i look forward to feedback after future riffmas releases in the next few days.
btw, the quality of the bvs riffs, both writing and performing, is outstanding!
god, i miss frank(his deadpan delivery is gold) and trace(my all time fave). those two are so solid. and i liked the rest of the riffers too. maybe they'll do an all-star just the jokes yearly.

I was afraid I was going to be stepping on your toes, I'm going to PM you to ensure a few other things I have in the works are not being duplicated (as frankly, I believe you have better QA than I do). I don't believe Audition had an issue with the Varney/Straton piece as there is a "sensitivity" slider with the ducking and the default 6 seems to have ignored the background noise.

Better quality file is up. (video has more bitrate as well as audio but using same master).

Absolutely zero toe stepping my friend, the more re-master makers in the mix the better. It gives folks more choice, e.g. Mega vs p2p, no-ducking vs 12db-ducking vs my 18db-ducking, etc.
But I don't want folks doing work when they'd just use mine when I get it out later. I've PMed you with updates on my near term plans.
Cool about Audition with the background noise being ignored. My use of the Level Speech compressor plug in set to 95 (very high!) within Audacity means a track with poor SNR will have lots of little hear-able noises after compressing. This problem has only happened this once so no biggee.

Izotope RX might be quicker; you can isolate individual artifacts or entire problem frequencies, such as an NTSC signal or, in this case, noise from a poor mic. it is superior to using a strip silence like in Logic or Pro Tools, and much quicker than manual level manipulation, probably better for the sauce too based on SRC comparisons (which granted are 96 to 44 but it is probably similar math for mp3 encodes such as with rifftrax syncs). RX is true mastering software, it could be considered overkill for the task but you have so much control; were i someone who regularly contributed in an audio-editing capacity like here, i would want to be put on to RX.
