Axcellerator

David Giancola, director of Time Chasers, Icebreaker, Radical Jack, and Pressure Point, has given his new film Axcellerator to Rifftrax to stream to fans for 48 hours.

You can get it from the Rifftrax site for free or watch it on Rifftrax's YouTube channel.

It features Flash Gordon himself, Sam Jones, as well as the usual Giancola quality. And Castleton! (Here's the trailer.)

Thanks for the heads up. I saw this on my other favorite movie release site and I was debating whether or not to watch it. I think the single imdb user review says it best:
"I didnt know they made films of this genre anymore, so if youre a time travel nerd, you might like it, i didnt
its a actioncomedy of low quality acting, basic filmography, a done for a nickel score, boiling and headless action, terrible staging and stand in front of a green wall way of exterior filming. if this where made in 1981, i woudve raised an eyebrow or two, but not today. the only thing raising the score are some neat driving action with alot of crashing and tyre squeeling
the grumpy old man are not impressed, its a no recommend"
Can't wait to see it now.

Hooray for Castleton t-shirts and free Edgewood Entertainment!

It has a brief intro by Mr. Giancola himself as well.

They just played this on the RiffTrax Twitch channel, with David Giancola in the chat! Unfortunately, I came in during the last few minutes, so I missed almost all of the movie, but was around long enough to see that Sean Young(!) was in it. I didn't even know she was still working. I'll definitely have to check it out.

The Rifftrax Youtube hosted a short Q&A with David Giancola. Nothing earth-shattering there, but seems like a nice guy.

If Rifftrax is making riffs on bad movies in the future, this movie will be a likely candidate for one of them.

It's been implied that it'll probably end up getting riffed sometime in the future. Though it's still in the process of getting a physical release worldwide right now, so that could be a while.

But Giancola seems to have a good sense of humor, likes the riffing, and has a good relationship with Rifftrax, so I'm sure he'll be glad to license it out soon enough.

I think it's pretty much a guarantee that there will be an eventual riff of this.
