I'll add a couple, "The Happening" and "Attack from Space", and don't ignore The Brits, Matthew J. Elliott and Ian Potter, they have a very different style, but still hilarious, Presents riffs

Some amazing ones I haven't seen mentioned yet:
The Apple: A rock opera version of the story of Adam and Eve where Satan is a campy music producer. The Guy from Harlem: Possibly the lowest budget blaxploitation film of all time. Cool as Ice: A thoroughly bizarre Vanilla Ice vehicle where he fights mobsters. Wicker Man: The original version is a horror classic. The remake is an accidental comedy even without the enhancement of Rifftrax.

"Dancin' It's on!" is strangely hilarious to me! I think it's because the guys are so obviously enjoying the riffing session.... and the whole movie, is just so SILLY! It was, honestly- so funny, I downloaded it, watched it, the immediately went to their website and bought the riff. They MORE than deserved my $10 for making me laugh tHaT much.
And "Fungicide" is so bad, I not only bought the riff, but I also bought a DVD from the director- to get the commentary/extras, and support such over-the-top moviemaking! Great fun!

I enjoyed it enough to check out more of his stuff. Again, thanks for all the replies, everyone! You guys are awesome ![]() (Nov 21, 2022, 17:35 pm)itsthehypnotoad Wrote: Some amazing ones I haven't seen mentioned yet: I have both The Apple and Cool as Ice but not seen them yet. I really like The Wicker Man (the 70s one) so avoided the remake as I'd only heard bad things, plus I generally don't like PG-13 horror OR American remakes (obviously there are exceptions...While I slightly prefer Ringu, I really like The Ring, which is both). The Rifftrax Wicker Man (2006) was definitely fun, though! I was shocked (both pleasantly and unpleasantly) to see Ellen Burstyn in it! Unpleasantly because...well SHE'S Ellen Burstyn and IT was The Wicker Man remake lol...She's probably my favourite actress, though. I think her playing Sara Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream is hands-down the best acting I have ever seen. The Guy from Harlem was certainly low budget and...a choice. To be fair, my only point of reference when it comes to blaxploitation is Blacula and The Wiz. |
