I use either Apache Openoffice and Libreoffice depending on what computer I'm on and not Microsoft Office.
I'm too dumb to be able to find differences between the two as I think Office software are alike, so you have to help me: which software package do you think I would benefit from in the long run.
Aesthetically, I think Libreoffice is more appealing, but it's a bitch to keep up, whereas Open Office has been generous to not include too many updates in the course of one year.
Am I wrong? In the year 2018, which one is more appealing to you?

Functionally they are pretty similar. I use Libreoffice because it came with my distro. Are you saying updates are a bad thing?

No, it's just that well, is having that many updates that necessary?
Why not just have it every month or a set and consistent amount of time? There's just too many!

I think personally Libreoffice is the way to go as it is maintained and has a clean interface.

I use MS Office and have for years.
And the honest reason was I learned/used it for my job function at work, and became pretty proficient at Excel. So my favor of MS is circumstantial as I really couldn't be bothered to learn about anything new. I parlayed it from work to home as I was so comfortable with it. I have Office 16, which I got from TPB, so it's free, in an illegal kind of way.
I guess I'm open to alternatives since I should always be open to new things, but my preference to MS is a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type of thought...
I guess I can research, but I'm assuming Libreoffice is available for Windows?
I guess I can google a comparison list too, but I'd rather have people who's opinion I trust tell me the differences...
