It's my first time using Transmission and it's not very intuitive.
Anyone use Transmission to create torrents?

In the 'File' menu choose new, or simply hit CTRL+n and you will get this dialogue:
1 - Choose where to save the .torrent file 2 - Choose the source material, folder or file. If folder you will get a choice of standard folders in your home folder or "other" - choose that one and navigate to the folder you wish to share 3 - List of trackers- Not strictly necessary if you are using DHT, but it facilitates connections somewhat. Be aware that each new line should be preceded by a blank line. I have included TPB's list at the end of this post. 4 - Close your eyes and pray to the torrent lords of almighty file sharing 5 - Comment and private flag - you wont need these and avoid setting the private flag at all unless you are uploading to a private site 6 - Hit the 'New button' and wait for the program to make the torrent file When transmission has done computing you can hit 'cancel', 'close' or 'add' - only the last option will actually add the torrent file to transmissions interface. This will bring up another dialogue showing the list of indexed files within the torrent and asking you what to do with it as if you had just opened a .torrent file from anywhere (which you did). Make sure 'Start when opened' is flagged unless you for some reason dont want to seed it until later That's about it. Now you can upload the .torrent file to any site of your desire List of trackers from a recently downloaded TPB torrent: Code: udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969/announce

I take a particular ethical interest in helping people transition from proprietary software to free alternatives, but there is no heroism involved whatsoever besides what I consider general decency. Still, I appreciate the flattery (Aug 29, 2021, 10:54 am)LadyAnn2 Wrote: I'm actually kind of low IQ dumb cause I was 13 before I learned to read. As far as I can tell you are a fast learner.
