One of my favorite comedy-holiday movies of all time, is “Home Alone” (1990). It was a great movie, filled with many scenes of imagination created by the protagonist, a 8-year old boy. For all of those who have not yet seen this movie, it pretty much revolves around a child protecting himself against intruders, by designing smart traps to deter the burglars from robbing his house.
But this was not the case for a 11-year old boy from St. Louis. On Thursday afternoon ( Sept. 3), police received a call about a teenager of 16 years who was shot to death, by the 11-year old boy. So by now, your probably thinking, why did the child have access to a firearm in the first place? Well, it so happens, that the mother purchased the handgun for protection due to some previous break-in attempts. So it can be automatically assumed, that the mother's lack of caution, resulted in the death of a 16-year old boy, who barley had started to experience life.
The initial reports stated, that the 16-year old was actually a intruder trying to break in the house. It has also been reported from multiple sources, that he tried to break-in not only once, but several times throughout the day. However, one neighbor had stated that he saw the two arguing on the front porch, right before the 11-year old pulled out a gun and shot the teenager in the head.
The 11-year old, was home with his 4-year old sister.
One neighbor stated that “They were just arguing loud, you know back and forth”.
“He was always was just sitting right there on the porch”, “He never did once go inside the house.”
What do you guys think what happened? Who knows what the teenager had in planned for the children, maybe he planned to kill them, resulting in 2 deaths instead of one. Perhaps, he went with no ill intentions, and was just a other victim claimed by the stupidity of a parent for not locking up their firearm properly. Regardless, it is still sad to see a life to go
