Hi, when I log into my school wifi it says that basically I'd be responsible if there were bittorrent problems. Etc, torrenting = legal issues.

So, will running a proxy like ultrasurf work well?

No. Nothing will hide the fact you are moving large amounts of data.


Use a VPN if you like to gamble.


Get a seedbox if you don't. Keep the torrenting off the school networks.

You can easily guarantee safety: by not doing what you have been specifically warned not to do.

Don't download at school. Your ISP there (ie. your school) doesn't want you doing it, and they'll happily serve you up on a platter if any shit hits the fan.

Download at home. Your ISP there WANTS you downloading as much as possible, and they will go to court on your behalf to protect you if any shit hits the fan.

[But more importantly than any of that, you need as much education as you can get. Don't download, period. Study more.]

But just a question, why WOULD my ISP want me to download?
And how is my school supposed to find me if I torrent anyhow? Wifi triangulation??

Most ISPs have a Cap. or a top end that you can download depending on how much you pay each month.
They wont shut it down if you go over, But they will charge you a premium price for every megabit over your plans amount.
Meaning they could make bank from every major downloader.


Keep in mind everything you do online bites into the cap.
Checking email, watching YouTube videos. being on this forum.
Its real easy to hit your cap and go over.
Unless you have a plan without a cap. But there getting rare.
