More importantly two years before the producers came up with " Starsky & Hutch ", the character of informant Huggy Bear is played here by former " Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In " cast member Johnny Brown, who became famous playing Bookman on " Good Times ". So he was unavailable to play Huggy again 2 years later. The series role went to Antonio Vargas..
