i am used to ripping the latest music videos off utube however the software i normally use,

4k video downloader
Any Video Converter Ultimate
no longer works
any suggestions

Try JDownloader 2. I've been using it since it came out, and I rarely get errors (only if the video has been removed, or blocked in my country).
Try Internet Download Manager, abbreviated to IDM.
Downloads everything and downloads quickly, doesn't lag unless you are using a media player at the same time it's downloading, so either download or play your media,
not both.

In case you ever want to rip anything off of YouTube on-the-go and you're using an Android phone, this Android app gives you all available options and works perfectly. Just remember to turn off multiple connections in the settings

Came here to post this. It's java so crossplatform. Also open source. And works great for leeching cyberlockers too. I dont trust any other download agent.
