Full Version: How Can I Make/Does My Image Look Good In Fullscreen?

Basically, I'm making a game and the resolution in which it is in is 1280x720, thus, I figured I made all my images 1280x720 HD.

Now, they look great in that setting and all, but whenever I put the game in fullscreen, it all looks more like 480P, all grainy and everything.

I tried to "fix" this by thinking that I need a bigger picture and just downscale it, so I made a 1920x1080 picture (the size of my full screen), and yet even then in fullscreen mode it just looked worse, grainy and so on and so on.

Here is what I mean more precisely :

I'm gonna take a popular patreon project "Dating my Daughter" (yeah, I know lol) as an example.

FULLSCREEN mode (basically full screen) -

Now, compare that to mine:

Maybe it's just the "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality I'm having here, but it generally does look a bit better in the first 2 pictures that I was showing, right? If not, then I'm happy, but I've been looking at my own project for so long now that I don't know what is good and what's not anymore, so I would really appreciate the honesty here. If my pictures are worse looking when entering fullscreen, what can I do to fix this then? Do I need to render out in something like 1440p or maybe even Ultra HD (3840x2160) or do I just need to change my settings somehow? I also do not wish for a single image that looks something like this to take over... let's say 1 hour 30 minutes to render out.

Any advice/responses would be greatly appreciated!
