I have a Roku streaming media player. Is it possible to use Kodi on this platform as described in this TorrentFreak article? Or, do I need to purchase a "Kodi" box from somewhere?
You can side load apps on to the Roku or NowTV boxes so just find the compatible software.

I am looking at the article, but it seems difficult. And, I have a Roku streaming media player [v3] - not a stick. My smart phone [KitKat 4.4.2 or something like that] does not have anything native that can "Cast" to my Roku. I might be doing something wrong here. Or, maybe I need some kind of 3rd party app [framework] that would allow me to do this.
What its saying is you can use Roku but as a streaming service but not to install the app on, basically screen casting, have you tried Plex on Roku as you can get some channels on that but again thats basically screen casting?

I posted a youtube video showing how I stream my local Kodi PC onto a Roku Channel

accessible from anywhere on an IPhone/IPad. This can also be streamed via Airplay.
