Now, I don't know what happened, but it seems that Starcraft: Brood War keeps exiting on the computer with this message:

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

The copy of Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War are retail copies.

I'm at wit's end in that I don't even know how to respond.

What kind of information should I tell you guys that will help?

i have the same problem

on a clean pc, new xp install,

had to use StarCraft 1.15.2 enUS Installer

i get this message when i copy my old save games to the save folder on a new install

when i copy the whole directory structure (starcraft), along with the save games folder, i get the same error message.  i tried to email support@blizzard.com, but they are no longer answering or monitoring that address, and they don't answer the phone.  i am also having problems logging in to play wow or post on the message boards.

I fixed it. The RAM in the computer was defective, so I replaced them.

EDIT: Just to add, I didn't the Blizzard Downloader; I have a retail copy of the game, on CD, no less. Bought it at 2003 for my old Pentium II 333MHz computer.
