Every time I try to download a torrent, a notification pops up that says 'client failure.' I've downloaded a couple clients and I'm not quite sure what's going on?

Sounds like you're clicking on an ad / scam link rather than a real link.

Post a screenshot showing (at least) the popup and the url of the page you're clicking on.

And tell us what browser and torrent client you're running.
