Just saw Avengers Infinity war at the movies. I don't follow Marvel as much as DC but it was good. The ending had an Empire Strikes Back kinda feel.

Thanos was a much better villain than Stepphenwolf IMHO...

MArvel has better character development than DC and it shown in this movie.
I watched Avengers Infinity Wars and must say, it was a poor movie for a multitude of reasons.

First, current action movies have ridicule cuts and sequences; you can't understand the fights, the flashes are too short and disconnected.
Hollywood just cuts costs by selling us video collages of their first takes instead of doing it again and again until doing it right.

Second, the mix of different styles, like Guardians of The Galaxy and Hulk, well, was just done wrong. And Thor looks like a real douche.

Finally, Thanos is a cold, more mental type of vilain that thinks he's a savior, an "anti-christ" of sorts; by definition he's an evil Spok, but was pictured here as a really boring boy scout playing bad guy, imo. But the worst part was, indeed, the "to be continued" ending, and it makes so obvious why the movie many times drag on.

At least, the title is very "apropos", for Marvel sure expects to make Avengers the new Harry Potter or Star Wars series: Infinitrology.
The commuter. Story told over and over again, with very small variability between individual titles. Man in a difficult position makes a hard choice but ultimately chooses the right path, successfully fights against all odds and becomes a hero for all. And everyone lived happily ever after.
New movies I've enjoyed recently are Hostiles and Death of Stalin. The Shape of Water is also an incredible movie imo. Probably the best I've seen in a several years i'd say.

Great selection although Hostiles feels like the white man hero fairytale (imo); Shape of Water is old school cinema with a good measure of modern technique.

Hostiles, sure, I see your point. I just enjoyed it as a bit of drama with a happy-ish ending.

And they all died happily for ever... ?  That ending was maybe the grandeur of the movie as it implies a lot; maybe that play was about irony. Not bad.
Wing Commander, 1999. From TPB of course.

Ripped from BluRay, not a bad encoding (except for the title screen, that intro deserved better).
Very good production with a poor writing. Ultra cheesy. No stars, but a few decent B-rank actors and many dedicated wannabes.

What was terrible about it was the scripting, anyone on this should've signed in just because of the famous game, and regreted.
I mean, how can an actor show what they can do with such lines?

OK, the time has come as i just finished watching the movie last night.

It is NOT nearly as bad as the critics would have you think. It was decent. Would I watch it repetitively if I see it on TV like Goodfellas or godfather, etc?  No.

Travolta's depiction was...eh, adequate... We can see what he was trying to do, but he didn't capture Gotti's larger than life personality (it was more like he was an overacter than someone with that special something )... If Gotti was really like this he wouldn't be known since the real Gotti compelled you to pay attention... whereas here we just had to since he was the star of the movie.  JT made the movie Gotti, the real Gotti would have made the movie his.  His portrayal was believable, but not convincing...

I was reading other reviews, and I found it funny that someone said that Travolta's performance was "Travolting"... which It was not, it was just there.

I do like the illustrations of some of how some things went down. The Steakhouse shooting, some of the court cases, etc. Characters were not really developed in a way that showed who they truly were... For example, Anthony Gaspipe Casso was a nightmare IRL, but they show him as more of the prick co-worker type... an annoyance. Gotti really oversells the fact he hates and doesn't trust him, but the character Casso does nothing to prove why he deserved that hate; the character depth wasn't there since they rushed the story.

The biggest annoyance was the portrayal of Gotti Jr. Since Junior helped Travolta get into the role, I'm sure they didn't want to insult him. Gotti jr IRL was described as a roided up maniac who instead of learning and growing the multi-million dollar business, he and his friends would knock over mom and pop stores for pennies. The movie they pretty much depict him as the 2nd coming of Carlo Gambino.  From multiple sources I've read, he was the bosses spoiled out of control kid moreso than a stand on his own leader who happens to be the son of the boss... People unaware of the backstory just got lied to.

I'd saw it's worth your time to watch it, once...If anything just to see if you agree if it should be as hated as critics say... It definately does NOT deserve what it's getting, but it doesn't deserve any accolades, either
