What book(s) are you embarrassed that you haven't read?

There are many books that I regret not having yet read but not sure I'm embarrassed by it.  For example, I was going to say Finnegans Wake by James Joyce, but then I've never met anyone who has conquered the book, so why be ashamed over my own failure?

In terms of popular literature, I've never read On the Road -- or anything else by Jack Kerouac for that matter.  That's kind of embarrassing.
I can't think of anything I'm embarrassed to have not read but perhaps something I'm embarrassed to have read will suffice: the entire Harry Potter series (as a mature adult).
my own daily journal...for obvious reason
I never read the TOS.

Yep.  Who knows what I have agreed to over the years.  That is embarrassing.
I think Sid was right and that this should be about what books you are embarrassed to have read.

I am embarrassed to have read 'Fifty Shades of Grey', though I actually didn't read all of it, because I just couldn't. So bad.

Also 'Twilight'. Read that whole thing for some reason. Possibly the most boring book I've ever read.

But to stick with the thread, there are a couple books that I just couldn't get into or even understand.

One is the aforementioned 'Finnegan's Wake'. I read about 200 pages before I gave up. No idea what was happening.

One more is another very obtuse writer, David Foster Wallace. I read about 400 pages of 'Infinite Jest' before I had to stop to give my brain a rest. I'm sure I'd love it if I could only finish it. All of his other work is fantastic, and much easier to digest.

I'm embarassed to have read most of the threads here on SB. What drivel most of them are! Especially mine!!

I'm very impressed.  That's 198 pages more than most people, including myself, can handle.

Roger that.
Embarrassed not to have read - War and Peace (Completed till Volume 1 and still receiving a lot of flak for not finishing it).

Embarrassed to have read - An issue of 1843 magazine concerning Literary Gems (Warning : they mean it literally!).
and/or Michio Kaku's Parallel Worlds (It was tolerable till he fantasies about the various of Clashes of Civilizations and its Cures).

As for Finnegans Wake - that belongs to The Things to Try Before I Die....
I'm embarrassed to say I haven't read a book for at least the last five years. I keep telling myself I'm going to find a book to read and then I start to procrastinate.
