How/why has this not been done yet... I created my TPB accounts years ago and don't remember what emails I used. If I needed a PW reset I'd be screwed. At the VERY LEAST we should be able to see what the email associated with the account is when we're logged in on the preferences page.

One of the emails I used to use all the time went down and there's a good chance I used it for one of my TPB accounts.
There's no need to see your email because there is the Account Issues forum, where you can ask crew to reset your password manually, as well as edit/change account details such as email address.

^^ Read that for the suprbay/TPB basics.

What accounts have you registered?

Moved from Suggestions.
lol... I'm speechless... I can't believe you've said that! :p

You really want people to have to make a forum account and new thread just to check what email is associated with the account? What a major hassle for both the forum mods & TPB users...

Not to mention it introduces all kinds of security problems to do it your way. Say I want to get into someone's account and all I know is their username, I could make a forum post here and find out their email. I could probably also get the email changed without knowing their password, and thus take over their account...

I can't believe you think this is actually a valid alternative...

I request that you return this to the suggestions forum :)

Done

The reason it has not been done yet, and the reason it will never be done, is because we are not as stupid as you are.

Keeping something hidden, that only an account creator can know, enables us to verify the identity of an account holder if there is ever any question. Such as the case of forgotten passwords and no-longer-active email accounts, or hacked accounts.

Any more dumb ideas?
