For some of you who remember when Austria blocked TPB, now there is a new development. T-Mobile, a popular cellular/communications company, has recently announced that they will not comply with the request to block TPB. LSG, a large music rights group based in Austria, sent out letters to varoius ISP's, requesting them to block TPB. LSG soon started to take action after A1 Telecom, a ISP, was ordered to block TPB.

From all the ISP's the letters were sent to, T-Mobile was the first to respond to deny  blocking TPB from its customers. A spokesman for T-Mobile answered as of why they plan not to comply.

“We will not comply with this request, and access to The Pirate Bay will not be blocked,” the spokesperson said, adding that it was the authorities, not music rights groups, that “should implement clear legal regulations with regard to Internet blocking in Austria.”

T-Mobile wants to hear it from the court itself, not from some music rights group. T-Mobile doesn't want to stick up for TPB, or for any other piracy site in that matter, we will just have to wait and see how they will respond when they receive a court order.
I for one applaud T-moble for having brains enough to let the LAW dictate what's right and wrong, instead of some grumpy interest group... I'm now proud to be a t-mobile customer!

I can think of a few other situations where Corporations wouldn't buckle. Married with Children on Fox is one of them. Even after some paying advertisers pulled out, they kept it on the air...

We have to let the law and lawmakers do their job. Of course these special interests can make their "requests" (Shit, I can write to them and request a million dollars). But that doesn't mean anything...
