I recently swapped out the computer that I use for my media center and for some reason a lot of videos that I download result in this issue. Especially videos from eztv and ettv on TPB.

The computer being used is identical to multiple other systems (ordered a bunch of dell's for the office a few years back and adopted a few) that i download the same videos on and they run fine so it must be some sort of setting or configuration issue. I run VLC for all videos and when they look like this I run them in windows media player instead which takes away the weird glitch, but ghosts the video in a greenish tint.

This drives me crazy because half the time I have to download from another source after downloading the original and it not working. Please have a look at the pics and let me know if you know what this is, or if you know what it could be and how to fix it. ---> http://imgur.com/a/QXio5

Thanks folks!
damn, that looks weird.

something seems to be wrong with the decoding process. since vlc uses its own set of decoders,
have you tried a fresh install, or maybe a different version of vlc?

Yes, I've tried running updates when they're available and I've done full uninstall / reinstall a couple of times with no luck.
