Those who are facing issues with sound in COD Black Ops 2, here is a fix. And I think this is the only one as I had tried every other solution found on the internet.
Whether it is the updates or any patches or sound fix, nothing seemed to have worked, until and unless you update the version of your Windows 7 OS by installing the SP1.
Below is the instruction of how-to-do...
1. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows
2. Click [Windows Service Packs] at the bottom

3. Click [Get SP1]

4. Click [Download]

5. Then check windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe which is around 900 MB and click next.

6. Then double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

The total time of download+installation+update will take about 1 hour. So have patience and let the SP1 do it's job. After the installation is complete, You have your sound back for COD Black Ops 2

N.B. - The above update is for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. If you are on a different version of Windows, then please search google for the appropriate SP for your version of Windows. Make sure that you turn-off Automatic Windows Update after the installation is complete.
