wrong code on my end again... An assistance would be great.. thank you very much

i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM  I had torrents shared and a certain person from another site got my password, deleted all my torrent shares on TB and some how got me banned, I have a log who was online at time of hack and its sad that some other sites would take the pass which i used only same on this site and mine DUMB but none the less, now it seems im banned from other torrents and i did nothing wrong  My user was I believe deleted on PB and banned why would someone do this to someone sharing with the scene ????? from another torrent site  SUCKS......

no i upload 1 torrent and seems i get banned  WHAT is going on ?????

Every time I try to upload torrent @ upl.thepiratebay.se I get the Error - wrong code
I've double checked the code I enter and tried to upload file more than 10 times, still the same error, so I think it's some kind of bug.
I added 2 screenshots below:

Your IP isn't banned. See this checklist from page 18, of causes for the error and see if any apply to you:

Search before posting new threads. Merged with existing Wrong Code thread.

•    Title too long  Less than 64 chars
  
•    Description too long I've seen 2x longer, also I have tried with shorter
  
•    url in title or descriptionThere is no URL
  
•    File type included which is not allowed in certain categories  Application / Other OS
  
•    .txt and/or .pdf files in upload posted in Music section  Doesn't apply to chosen category
  
•    Torrent already exists   Double checked
  
•    Too many files in torrent  40+ files for Mac/Linux/Windows making 23 MB together
  
•    .torrent filesize too big (about 270k is the limit for most .torrent files) 295KB is 270k meant as KB?
  
•    In Video HD (especially in porn section) if you try uploading a file smaller than 400MB regardless of weather it is a 720/1080p file it will return an error.  Doesn't apply to chosen category
  
•    An ampersand "&" representing the word "and" in title will return an error.   No & symbol
  
  
•    Avoid if possible some unicode symbols/letters (e.g Ñ - Latin small letter N)
  
  

My IP addresses are being blocked even though I'm using a paid VPN—PIA.

The addresses in question are:

108.61.101.131
108.61.228.146
108.61.68.166

Have you blocked the entire 108.61. set?

How can this be fixed? This wasn't happening yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I was on the same servers then.

It's a pain to keep disconnecting and reconnecting and never being able to post.

This may come as a surprise, but fakers and malware uploaders can use a paid VPN as well. Paid for or not, when an IP is abused, it gets banned. The involvement of money is irrelevant.


As it so happens, none of those 3 IP addresses are banned. The reason for the error lies elsewhere, as explained in this and other threads.

I was responding to the big colorful post at the top of this thread that states that error code means your IP is banned. It doesn't direct you elsewhere nor state that there may be other reasons. It specifically called out free VPN services, which is why I made a point of stating mine was paid.

Maybe that post should be edited with the link you included in an earlier response with a list of reasons for the code? That would be most helpful.

In my case, changing IPs eventually worked, although I didn't know it until I changed it again and tried to upload the same torrent, only to be told it was already in the database. Even though I had gotten the "Wrong code" message when it was uploaded, it still went through. None of the other issues on the list apply to the torrent, so I have no idea why it was generating the error message. I suspect no one else does, either.

Neither do we as we aren't at your computer when it happens, and there isn't a log we can look at to see what when wrong.

The list of possible causes comes from people reporting what worked and what didn't.

'wrong code' for months, have not been able to keep up on my uploads.

now fixed: browsing here I suspected it was my PIA? but also the 'category' classifier in uploading is very silly
