Are audio DVDs a thing right now?

I've never found any. In Walmart, I've only seen audio CDs.

Audio DVDs are actually quite uncommon these days. You won't come across them easily, especially in stores like Walmart where audio CDs tend to dominate the shelves if any at all. DVDs are primarily associated with movies and TV episodes, while record labels find it more cost-effective to produce and distribute music on CDs then DVDs. Hence, finding audio DVDs can be quite a challenge in today's market.

Services like Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music, dominate the market today sadly.
Ah fuck Spotify, Youtube Music, and Apple Music.

I can live without online platforms, though Square One, the second largest shopping mall in Canada, can do a lot more with some competition. The mall may seem big in comparison of the average shopping arcades, but with the exits of HMV, Starstruck Entertainment, among others, the mall is a former shell of itself. It's just downright boring.

I digress. I will say that I don't need DVD audio, I just am curious about if people have seen them before, because I haven't.

Toodles.

Actually, audio DVDs are not as common as they used to be. The trend has shifted towards digital formats like streaming services and downloadable music files. Most people find it more convenient to access music through platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube rather than purchasing physical discs. However, if you're specifically looking for a physical format with better audio quality than CDs, you might want to explore high-resolution audio formats like SACD (Super Audio CD) or Blu-ray audio discs. These formats provide a higher fidelity audio experience, but they are not as widely available as standard CDs.
I'm fine with audio CDs.

I was just curious as to whether audio DVDs ever existed ever, let alone it being a fad.

Does anyone remember Tamagotchis?
