I have been following Demon Slayer for some time now and can confirm everything that the OP says about this series.  They also could have mentioned that there is a lot of humor in the show as well.  The action is set during the Taisho Era of Japan (1912-1926), so some knowledge of modern Japanese history will enhance, but is not necessary to, your enjoyment of this series.

I have already read the manga, so I have been looking forward to the current season for some time now.  The artwork in the first episode is excellent.
