Do you mean get MP4, right? From what I understand out of the video link above, the Amazon app doesn't allow to keep and freely pirate the files, and I honestly don't like that model. It makes me feel like renting, not owning, not like in the time of tapes or DVDs.
As a solution, consider to capture in VM, like VMware Workstation Player or Oracle VirtualBox, or on the TV level with working on the HDMI signal itself by specific cards. No DRM can do anything with this because the signal must be seen by someone at the end. This is how, in many cases, movies available on such platforms, go on pirate streaming sites almost instantly and in a pretty good quality.
