I made a torrent and sent it to a friend and he can't download it. On my end it says 100 percent and I added 3 trackers when I was making the torrent. It says connecting to peers 0
I will try and attach itill88eagle Wrote:Could be anything from port forwarding issues on either end to DHT not being enabled. Is your friend able to download other torrents? Are you able to upload to other peers?
Maybe post a link to the torrent here (magnet) or attach it to your next post so people can check if something is wrong...

At a glance: All the trackers are dead and have been so for years. In theory just having DHT enabled on both ends should eliminate the need for trackers, but in reality it's slow (especially for small swarms) at best. Here's a recent tracker-list from a TPB torrent (some might be offline):
Code:udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969/announce
udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:6969/announce
udp://9.rarbg.to:2710/announce
udp://9.rarbg.me:2780/announce

udp://tracker.torrent.eu.org:451/announce
udp://tracker.tiny-vps.com:6969/announce
udp://open.stealth.si:80/announce
Add (some of) those to the torrent and make sure your friend does too
EDIT: Here's a magnet link with updated trackers:
can hyou see if you can download the torrent?tvenetis Wrote:I got 4 trackers working now and I told the friend to add some trackers I gave him.ill88eagle Wrote:tvenetis Wrote:I will try and attach itill88eagle Wrote:Could be anything from port forwarding issues on either end to DHT not being enabled. Are you referring to listening port for uTorrent?ill88eagle Wrote:
I see the seed but am not connecting for some reason. Check if your listening port for udp is open (somewhere in the settings/preferences of whatever client you are using) and otherwise give it some time.
Edit- I am downloading now
A lot of uploading sites are close how do I let people torrent is availabl. It is a excellent documentary.ill88eagle Wrote:I am not on utorrent, but yes. In my clent (transmission) it's under 'edit'->'preferences'->'network'->'Listening port'. I was able to connect to a seed and download some 1% of the torrent. So there should be no port forwarding issues to worry about on your end. Maybe your friend (who also seemed to show up in the swarm) has to check if his own client (and router) has an open udp port?
