I use calibre with the de-drm plugin on linux for drm'ed amazon azw- The software is freely available for both mac and windows as well, and might be able to help you out?

yes works with calibre 5.Download with adobe digital edition. Drag the drm'd pdf to Calibre after installing the DeDRM plug in
Will that work if i buy a kindle book from amazon? Can i make a pdf i can read on my computer or phone?

Callibre + dedrm, yes- you can strip the drm then export to whichever format you like

i see now i can only get it to a kindle cloud reader as i do not have kindle. I don't think i can download from kindle cloud reader. It is a read in browser thing
Since i added the drm plug in to calibre it won't convert non drm book. I hav eto use an older version to convert epub to pdf
