Some film uploaders now put up an srt file that has just an advert for their site. That is annoying and misleading for people who are hard of hearing

The srt file for https://thepiratebay.org/description.php?id=40376812

contains

1
00:00:02,000 --> 00:00:06,000
Provided by
torrentgalaxy.to

2
00:00:06,500 --> 00:00:12,000

in future i will check the srt file first.If it is not a proper subtitle I won't get the film
Yeah, did you also notice how movie production companies add their logos and vignettes to movies? You can hardly watch a Tarantino flick without having Harveys Weiner shoved in your face in the opening shot.

Lucky for you though, you can edit out the promo lines in a .srt file using only notepad

No comparison. logos and vignettes do not prevent someone hard of hearing from following and they are not hidden in a file marked something else.
I know how to edit the.srt with notepad.There is nothing else is this srt only the promo.
In fairness to that uploader, the torrent description doesn't say the film comes with subtitles. It's always best to check the description for a list of subtitles, if any, that the uploader has included.

I will however, be having a word with the uploader about the misleading SRT file.

It is true "the torrent description doesn't say the film comes with subtitles" but srt are usually subtitle. I tried another version of his upload of the same film and it is the same. I don't think people with skulls should be doing that, gives a bad impression of skulls.

Same uploader has

has this in the srt.

if they are going to put ads for their torrents they should use.txt extension. It is a waste of time when getting a film for someone who is hard of hearing
