"Ripped from the Regal Video (1985) VHS
All versions I have seen on DVD seem to be sourced from this Regal vhs version, most of which
seem to use various video filters to try and 'clean' the video image, resulting in an even
worse looking print, including horrid ghosting as a result of certain types of noise filters,
as seen with the version on archive.org.
So this is the original direct rip of the Regal vhs tape. untouched untampered & unclean
Also it's stated as a fact that the opening credits that belong to Mad Doctor of Blood Island (1968)
was the result of the 2 films being played as a double feature, but I believe this to be false
because the crappy video re-title and credits are the work of the Regal distributors, which would
make sense because Regal had already put out 2 other titles from the Filipino 'Blood' series,
Brides of Blood (re-titled as Brides of the Beast) and Brain of Blood (re-titled as The Brain),
so the 'Revenge of Doctor X' and it's credits more than likely belonged to a re-titled
'Mad Doctor of Blood Island' Regal Video release that went belly up, and since they already
bothered to make the credit sequence, just tagged it onto this film that also happened to have
a mad doctor in it, and back in those days, cloudy details like that didn't really matter.
Even the back cover description is for Mad Doctor of Blood Island, which only solidifies my
speculations."
