Is anyone else getting an infinite "Retrieving metadata" for this torrent?
https://thepiratebay.org/description.php?id=5564355
"Retrieving metadata" means waiting for a peer to give you the actual torrent file which your client needs in order to start downloading, assuming there is at least one seed. In the case of this torrent, all trackers report between 2 and 5 leechers and 0 seeds. If you are not getting past the retrieving metadata stage, it means none of the leechers have the torrent file, and seeing how there are no seeds, they are probably all stuck at the same stage as you.

You could google the hash to see if the torrent file is stored somewhere - but it still wont help you much if there is no seeds
You could leave it on and hope a seed turns up - some times they do...
Or you could look for another torrent of the same movie
There is only one other torrent of the file and it's by an unverified user so i don't feel save torrenting it.

Worst thing that can happen is it's an exe file which wont harm you unless you actually open it. By far the most fake movies torrents come with a readme file which tells you to go to some website to get the codec. You are safe as long as you don't follow that link.

Anyway, post a link to the torrent and let me check it

Looks legit, but it's a slow download - will take some 20 minutes before I can confirm - EDIT: It's not fake and safe to download

This one has all four movies, plenty seeds and is not fake: https://thepiratebay.org/description.php?id=7700469
Thank you very much. (i wish there was a better way to check torrents than relying on those green skull and crossbones)
Again, downloading fake stuff wont harm you unless you are gullible enough to run an exe file that was supposed to be a movie or follow links that promises a codec needed to watch the movie. Also, if a torrent is old and well seeded it's more than likely not fake. TPB has an active moderation team that weeds out fake torrents as fast as they can find them
Oh cool.

Beware of .lnk files. They are apparently executable these days, and used as boogers.
