Unless it is an open access point or you can guess the access key, your best bet is to bribe someone who knows the password.

Yea, current common access point (WPA2). If you want to crack their security (password) still need a large dictionary of password wich usually used. If no one are match, it will be impossible.
You also need knowledge about Kali Linux and softwares inside this OS, also two wifi devices in a Laptop/PC.
It is maybe also possible under Windows (I never try it).
and in January 2018, the Wi-Fi Alliance announced WPA3 as a replacement to WPA2.
I think WPA3 will have new security design and more hard to crack/hack.

Maybe low-cost instead of totally free?
