I just don't seem to be able to get into HD.  Most  of these HD videos just seem so "blue" and it tends to hurt my eyes.
i don't believe resolution has anything to do with color. ever try adjusting the settings on your monitor so that it does not appear so "blue"?
i agree with @stormium. maybe only need adjusting monitor preset from 9300K to 6500K. it will be appear more "red".

and maybe adjusting brightness or contrast also can help your problem @soulcity
No, some Indians on ADSL dig low res files too.
Thanks guys but I've tried all those tricks and tweaks. I still get headaches and it still hurts my eyes.
So as things stand my TV just sits in my garage and I use my old laptop for all things Internet.
go check your eyesight, seriously
Did you try checking / calibrating your TV and maybe the lighting / environment ?

I appreciate all the suggestions that everyone is offering.  It's certainly very friendly and decent of everyone.  So thank you everyone.

But I was only wondering if I'm the only person that prefers lower resolution video.

However I've got a new question and that is why should someone have to go out of their way to trouble shoot fixing problems with an HD TV causing headaches.  I mean I paid for the TV and I had a reasonable expectation that I should be able to just plug it in and use it.

I certainly don't want to be wasting my time fiddling with the thing when I could be doing something more productive.
