I've watched a couple of these and am totally enjoying them, but these guys really fucking hate these films, huh? Like, I've heard one compliment (about the score in Nemesis) over the course of three movies.

Yeah, that's pretty much the premise of their podcast (although some films they enjoy do sneak by). These guys are film buffs at heart... they just happen to be very good at destroying bad movies. If you dig the commentaries, you really should check out their podcast.
Yeah they use their "hatred" to deliver the funny - you'll notice they mention tons of stuff they like in every episode too. Mst3k, rifftrax use shaming too - it's just a bucket, in writers terms. These guys are improv-ers so they're constantly rebuilding a framework for the next skit or gag. Saying something sucks is easier to harvest because it's temporary and atavistic. It may come off as negative but it's funny if you don't get too invested.

Do they do sync codes? I found around 5:49-5:50 when the "go" is, but what does that sync to? Probably overlooked but will give it a go

I haven't even tried syncing it yet. Between work, my girlfriend & our 3-year old, haven't had a lot of time lately. Am looking forward to eventually hearing them make fun of this (even though I don't completely hate Independence Day).
