waiting to scrape

Any idea why?

I'm getting "waiting to scrape" or "Scrape Error: Timeout" messages under "tracker status"? And when I queue to download a file I get either "Connection Error" or "OK (DHT/Backup only)" or "OK". But nothing is downloading or "no data received".
I've been an avid user right from the very beginning, but can't use my old registration and can't make a new one to stick. When log out and return, I need to register again!

Because whatever tracker(s) your client is attempting to connect to are offline at the moment.

That is nothing to worry about if DHT is working.

The tracker(s) seem to be working, but Vuze using dht.aelitis.com is not. Does that mean I need to have a new Client or do I need to renew the Vuze installation?

If DHT isn't working, then chances are it is blocked from making UDP connections. Be sure your firewall is allowing outgoing UDP connections. This would also be the reason you can't connect to some trackers.

Also, as a Vuze user, you should install the mlDHT plugin, which is available through the Installation Wizard in the Plugins menu. The above still applies.

Just for the heck of it I downloaded uTorrent. It is working, but I am not sure I like it. I think I will fix Vuze and keep using it. After all I've been using Azureus since the "Shareza" days! and am bit nostalgic..

PS: I registered again and still not getting the activation mail, even though I tried several times to resend it. To reply to this or thread I need to log out. Why it logs me in without a registration/activation is a mystery.

Because guest posting in GD is permitted without an account.

You can have the activation e-mail resent from the control panel. Check that it isn't in your spam folder. You can post in Account Issues if it is still an issue.
