torrents don't respond to clicking

a couple of weeks ago I clicked on some pop-up message in the PB and since then the torrents don't respond to clicking. What did I do and how can I fix it?

Which browser and which bittorrent client?

Firefox:
1. Open Firefox and type in about:config in the Address Bar and hit Enter.
2. Type in enter handler.expose in the search box at the top of the list.
3. right click - New - Boolean
4. Enter the preference name network.protocol-handler.expose.magnet
5. Set its value to false
6. Click on the magnet link and you should see Firefox’s Launch Application Choose Dialog
7. Select your torrent client.

Chrome:
Go to start menu > run
type in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data
Double click the Local State file
select notepad to open it.
search for "protocol_handler" > "excluded_schemes" > "magnet": true
Change true to false.

These strings do not appear as described.
Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit) - protocol_handler" > "excluded_schemes" > "magnet"
Firefox: 53.0.2 (32-bit) - enter handler.expose

Possible the above instructions are not up to date?

I use utorrent
but also tried bit torrent and bit lord, neither of which made a difference.
