Palinka. Hungarian liquor made from a variety of fruits, usually with alcohol content ranging from about 75% to 85%. It is extremely popular, like beers in the US, is made by quite a few small home-based companies. Better known brands can be found in supermarkets. Colorless, in many fruit flavors, my wife says it tastes like paint varnish, regardless. I tell her that after one shot, you can imagine any flavor you care to. I like the stuff.
