skidrow Syndicate doesn't work on updated win7 anymore??

i used to play syndicate on my pc with win7, it worked fine, but after a long time later, i tried again, and i got a pop up saying can't open the game, cannot start. it didn't happen before, so i can only conclude that there something to do with win7 update... still want to play that game again, hope someone can help. thanks!!
