please help me burn ps1 game to disc
#11
Ah, right, I see! But it does say that the supported speeds are 10x and above, but I am given the option to burn at a lower speed. I think I did try it on 4 and still the same.

1. Normally with a playstation you see the boot up sony screen don't you and then it goes on to the black background with the 'p' then the game loads, but I'm not getting past the sony part before it then goes to a purple background with 'play cd' and i think 'memory card' can't remember.

3. I had no idea about this. Sigh :/ More reading! lol

haha, here's number 2! So, I put the disc in the laptop, it's blank! So I burn again at 1x and then try. It had folders and capcom etc, so I'm like hmmm.. try it in the ps. Same purple screen, so I come back here to say that it had folders etc, it loads past the purple screen to the 'p', but of course it's old so it crashed. Tried it a few more times and praise the lord it works!!!! All this bloody time! So it's the ps being old mixed with me being stupid. :/

What it was was that when the imgburn said a disc had finished i would pop it out but it wasn't finished! So it wasn't burning it! oh my god how stupid am I!

The game loads a bit jittery but again I think it's the ps.

Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it.

my modded ps1 worked a lot better on its side (vertical position).

I'll have to try that to see if works and also give the lens a clean. It's been sitting in my loft for the past ten years lol.

If you can get a psx-to-usb adaptor, use an emulator instead Tongue

ePSXe has come a long way to work with most games

I had success with burning the PS2 games pretty well. But I remember trying to make PS1 games and it was a royal pain in the ass. I went through tons of disks trying it. Try using Sony DVD-R disks and burn at 8x. That's what I was using before but even still I had problems. I haven't been up on the PS1 & PS2 scene but I'm sure there's gotta be some type of HDLoader like there was for the PS2.

Jim, I don't think PSX/PS1 games use DVD-Rs, or do they? I'm not certain.

They don't. Atleast for anything older than the first slim version (which i own)
