Hmm.. I guess your argument removes the first reason. But the second one remains intact:

• useless, because you can search and browse the torrents on the actual website
• DMCA and other anti-piracy groups would likely be happy if we would provide them the hash directly.

Besides that, querying so many hashes on a website like TPB requires time and hardware resources; this because each minute (if not second) tens of torrents are uploaded/deleted. We must also remember the fact that there are over 6.5 million torrents on TPB.

we already get the info-hashes when we start the download. it is the core part of magnet links. and the info hash db release can be on a monthly or quarterly release. the sitemasters of tpb has chosen to hoard it for themselves so that we would have to always rely on the site to get our contents and get crippled the next takedown.

which is the problem demonoid foresaw and released their torrent db info hash. tpb can one-up all the others by doing this on a quartermonthly basis.
