iRiff/RLM Megathread
Hey jonjonjon, thank you for that rundown on different iriff acts, much needed, nothing worse than bad riffing. It's like bad comedy, Cinester Theater was a surprise to me, does anyone know if they're still active ? I love Janet and Cole, I wish they'd riff more movies, shame. I was thinking of starting a simple thread of only our personal opinions on different groups, who they are, how many are out there and what are their strong qualities and short-comings. I can't believe how good the Ghost Rider riff is, does anyone have the list of all Blame Society riffs ? Running Man was good too. Ronin Fox is kinda hit-or-miss for me and. And as I said before, Mike Stoklasa seems to have the talent for riffing and would be great if found others to make a group, but that ain't gonna happen. Might seem exaggeration from my part, but his Plinkett mix of commentary and riffing of the Star War movies and Star Trek V are a treasure. Ice on Mars Twilight riffs were breath of fresh air. Hor-RIFF-ic is not bad but I just can't get the hang of it, I only liked their Friday the 13th V, especially Satan's riff of the girl dancing the robot needing someone to take out her batteries. http://rifftrax.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Riffing_Troupes has good information but I think we need short reviews and ratings. I'm really anal about it, there are no ifs, ands or butts, we need to rectify things analytically. Sphincter!

I also want to ask if anyone has Ronix Fox' The Thing ?

Blame Society only did a couple, aside from co-writing on the Star Wars prequel riffs and Matt Sloan appearing as Chad Vader.

For them, you'll have to instead tide yourself over with their joking around on Beer & Board Games and movie riffing on Welcome To The Basement on YouTube.

I followed the bsg4U guidelines :
"The key to my volume balancing is:
1- movie track compression with Chris’s Dynamic Compressor 1.2.6 plugin
comp.ratio+0.600(custom) comp.hard+0.500(default) floor-20.0(custom) noise.gate+0.00(default) max.amp+1.00(custom)
2- riff track compression with Level Speech plugin -95,0
3- movie track auto-duck -18db  (with     defaults: 1       0.5    0.5       0       0     -30)
4- riff track amp/NEW PEAK  ~ -12.3db (depending on the riff and movie, -12.5, -12.20, etc)"
