being flaged by my IP
#1
Hello, Don't know if I am posting in the right section or not but here goes my situation.
My IP service was suspended for several days for downloading after a couple of warnings and i don't know why.
I use a Macbook Pro using uTorrent and Express VPN for quite some time now but don't understand how can it happen
if every time I use my VPN when I download. If anyone has an answer that will help me out i would appreciate it.

You're leaking to Apple Telemetry...  There's several hundred servers dotted all around the world.  I know all about them because I block them all the time.

You just need to block them that's all, you'll have to find a way that suits you as I can't tell you how I do it with my own setup because all setups are different.

Also possible you could be using Anti Virus that's also leaking your data.

Have a look on youtube to see if you can find the solution, just try searching for 'Apple Macbook Telemetry blocking' and see what comes up...

The best of luck on your adventure.

I'm familiar with Linux and Windows, but I'll throw my two cents in just in case it helps.
Along with doing what was mentioned above with telemetry from Apple being blocked; are you ensuring that your VPN's kill switch is enabled so that you're not getting any IP leaks from temp disconnects?

uTorrent is something I haven't used in a long while, but with programs like qBittorent, depending on how your VPN configures itself (I use OpenVPN); in qBittorent, you can restrict the Network adapter that qbittorent gets its connection from. OpenVPN creates a new network adapter that is specifically for the VPN connection, so if you set your uTorrent client to only use that network adapter instead of "Any", then that works as another type of kill switch. So if your VPN connection ever drops, uTorrent won't try a connection from your other available network adapters.

I've seen countless people who are using a VPN, but they don't have a kill switch enabled, so when their VPN randomly disconnects, your real ISP picks up the connection and your IP address leaks.

Like I said, I haven't messed with uTorrent in a long long time, but I'd imagine if it's trying to compete with other torrent apps; then it has to have some type of network restrictions in place.

As far as apple telemetry itself, you can take a look at https://github.com/cedws/apple-telemetry and shop around for other stuff too. Unfortunately my knowledge of macOS is limited, but it's at least some stuff to consider.
