No problems here. If your system has been running for weeks try a reboot.

Check again. The only reason it wouldn't work is because your system is blocking incoming and outgoing connections.

TPB in particular requires as a minimum the ability to create outgoing UDP connections.

The fact that you have been able to use other torrent sites suggests that you are able to create outgoing HTTP connections but not UDP.

Your computer only allows you to download porn?

Yeah, right.

how do i enable the outgoing UDP connections?? I mean where can i confirm it?? thanks!!

let me also describe the current symptoms, the one that says downloading ain't really doing it, the 0.2kb/s keeps phasing in and out, been many hours, only 0.3 percent done for a 130MB file, good peers and seeds detected.

and for other new downloads, they couldn't even get through the "downloading the metadata" stage, so i deleted them Sad

Hey keithasdf,

I'm no Windows network expert, but I'll try to  help you with your problem.

First of all, are you using a VPN? Most public trackers block the use of VPN/proxies, so if you do have one running, disable it to see if the problem lies there.

A other (possible) solution, is opening some ports in Windows firewall. You say you already checked your firewall, but it doesn't hurt to open more ports.

1. Go to control panel
2. Go to system and security
3. Go to windows firewall
4. Go to advanced settings (left side)
5. Click inbound rules (left side)
6. Click add new rule (right side)
7. Choose port and click next
8. Select UDP and add the ports your torrent client uses and click finish
9. Repeat the same for outbound rules

Make sure uTorrent does not randomize ports, in the settings. (and set the port number high, over 32768).

If that doesn't work, try disabling the firewall temporarily to see if that fixes it. If it does, then at least we know where the problem lies.

I hope this helps.

first of all, thanks for your help. however, i have turned off the windows firewall and used the kapersky one instead, and have checked the utorrent status as "trusted", so don't know why....

What version are you on?

Go to version 2.2.1 and never update

No they don't, and even if they did, it's not relevant.

He's not trying to connect to trackers, he's trying to connect to peers.

The only time trackers enter into the equation is when using private flagged torrents. For the rest of the torrent universe, DHT is the only tracker you need.

Not being connected to the DHT network is another symptom of blocked UDP connections.
