What's your reason for going to the library? Torrent websites are like libraries that provide free material. Last time I checked everything was free at a library.

for me, it's a mixture of impatience (and example is, the new within temptation album is not out yet) though i have a copy of it- since i downloadeded it... i have to want it their and then- if something comes out by an artist i want, it's mine.

limited funds

and also becauseeyou can find really rare stuff- or more stuff of a particular group in torents

you can't go on amazon and order the tori amos discogrophy. with torents you can get it

I practice piracy, for two reasons:
- Everybody deserves to have access to: culture/ music/ movies/ games/ books/etc.
- By the true satisfaction shown by users, when we (Uploaders) can fulfill their requests!

Mainly because,
- Stuff is too expensive (Software, Movies, etc.)
- I like to try it out before purchasing (Which I do occasionally)

I have been pirating since mIRC and then through warez sites and FTP upload sites then through WinMX, Ares, Napster, Kazaa, and Limewire and now I do it through scene groups and sites along with the occasional FTP site if I don't feel like waiting for a site to release it. I do it because for the last 16 years of my life it has been the only way I knew how. I do see the alternate options of buying software, books, tv shows, and movies but like has been stated before me I don't get why we should if it is available for free in such large quantities. Why should something digital cost money? I get why an iPhone costs $500 but why then should we have to pay for apps and games? I pay for my internet and that is pretty expensive where I live and not the fastest speeds. So I am supposed to pay for the internet and the electric and the cable and then pay for the TV and the movie theater and the software I need to make a living? I pay for food, clothes, and my house and transportation but I think it is crazy that I cannot get a book for my kindle by downloading it from someone who I have probably known for more than half my life. Why else should the internet exist besides to share information and ideas? It blows my mind that the copyright law even exist! Is EVERYTHING ABOUT MONEY? WTF, FTW!

I just like trying the products first

It's always the "I want to "try it out first" kind of excuse. I too am guilty of that.

Since when did we get so boring and run out of ideas?

1. Most visuals I've paid for in the cinema or on cable & want a keep copy..paid them once feel justified in getting value for my £'s.

2. Audio is taken to replace vinyls..same cost example as above. ALSO to sample before i buy the next.vinyl (its still thriving, but try b4 I buy!).

3. Software - Far too expensive for individuals like me on average wages to buy...the prices are aimed at business affordability. Without 'sharing' well we wouldnt buy anyway, and with sharing all our lives are enriched and the software is talked about and word of mouth does 'them' no harm.

4. It's good to share. Long live TPB.Big Grin

I could claim that I like "trying" things before I buy them; but if I were to be honest, I would say that I like getting something for nothing.
