LOL! A pirated cam section? Serious?
That's funny. You're talking about Guyana, a place that rejected The Pirate Bay, but allows pirated cam videos.

i "pirate" because it is possible to share copied files. if sharing files equated to stealing, i wouldn't do it. i've never intentionally stolen anything before. any money i do throw at original content creators is because i'm grateful for said content and wish to see more of it in the future. i as well am not a fan of copyright, on the principle that it is an uncontrollable system of rule that never treats any party fairly and only stifles creativity and artistic expression.

After thinking about this fact, I feel the need to remind you (and I too!) of this about copyright:
While copyright laws are abused, they originally exist so that the creators get credit for their work. Copyright infringement should only exist not to curb piracy, but to curb plagiarism, which in my view, is a legitimate concern.
Just my four dollars.

qft
imo the question needs tweaking. Why not ask, 'Your reasons for sharing?'
Makes more sense to me.
Life under capitalism is expensive enough. I pay for my internet connection, why should I pay for media? And moreover, why should others pay for media that I can share?
Entertainment, culture, life is not just for the wealthy.
Maybe it would be more informative to ask why people don't share. That intrigues me much more.
oh and, f*ck capitalism.

because i like to share stuff, specially music, and i am poor guy, no money.... ![Tongue Tongue](https://forum.suprbay.org/images/smilies/tongue.png) so i get mac programs for free and watch some movies without spending a dime.
gosshhh, so good to be a pirate ![Cool Cool](https://forum.suprbay.org/images/smilies/cool.png)
now, seriously, i pirate cause i believe in sharing material that corporations try to shove up your a***s at high prices. Those corporations build empires and control information because info is precious and its monopoly is their hidden agenda

Even if there was a legal alternative that would cost only one single cent I would still pirate. What are your reasons for pirating things?
I would stop. in a heart beat. IF:
studios provided higher quality digital downloads
more logical pricing (come on if the blu-ray box set for a show can be on sale for $20 why are the downloads $60)
more reasonable release timing.
Global restrictions were dropped.
dump the DRM
and
feature set parity, in particular stop this shit of releasing the downloads as the show airs and then again a year or so later as a 'deluxe release' with a bunch of features. making me have to buy the eps again to get them. give me credit for what i already bought and pay up. the iTunes releases of Breaking Bad are the perfect example.
For a lot of things I would just stream them if the quality was decent, the timing was decent. and if i'm paying for access no damn commercials (hulu plus i'm looking at you).
I would also consider subscribing to some stuff if I could do it without having to have cable (like let me pay $10 a month to get HBOGo) and the ISPs were playing bandwidth games

Can't pay, won't pay, and I believe the sharing of culture, knowledge, education, and media, should be free and accessible to every human being as a right, not a privilege for those with wealth.
When you buy a hard copy book, you only help the author and publisher, but when you pirate and seed back, everyone benefits. Pirating/sharing is common sense imho.

Spud17, I don't believe you! Kidding.
While I have collected a lot of e-books, I still find e-book piracy not as appealing and more trouble than its worth.
For books, I would rather just get the hard copy.
Everything else, however, is fair game.

reason for pirating: renting is way overcharged, at least in my country. So are movie theaters.
btw: old pirate, love the photoshop effect on your avatar!
