Why did TPB create the Apibay endpoint?

I was just curious about why the data endpoint at apibay.org came to be. It's now what TPB queries to return search results. I understand that it makes things more modular. It also makes it super easy to scrape the database.

winston stopped smocking crack for a while
but then he resumed, ergo the endpoint is still in 403. |
