Why are 90% of torrents magnet links only?

i've read from the old suprbay about magnet links being set as default,

and torrent links only be used for torrents below 10 peers

After a bit of time when the torrent is established only the magnet link shows, this is to save bandwidth. If the torrent becomes less popular again the torrent file becomes available again.

To save bandwidth? I also notice the lack of torrent links and it's misleading for visitors. They may decide you are not giving the torrents, only fake links. I'd propose including them, clearly.
When I took the magnets my default magnet p2p program handled it. However when I check the download it is in the form of a .torr file anyway.?

Torrent links haven't appeared on the site since it returned 18 months ago. They never will again.

The Download link is advertising, deliberately deceptive advertising at that, fuck knows what clicking it will result in but I wouldn't expect it to be anything good.

What do you mean Sid. There are fake Download buttons. Can't you control your page content and have an official torrent link?

The majority of available torrent clients support magnet links now so there will likely never be a torrent file link on TPB again.

I take it this means we are free of the curse of outdated trackers. I always say every torrent site (like this) should provide its own tracking, this is the failing of the system. I just thought this would not be clear to users, and there are spam download links.

The "Download" button won't appears.
this is an old issues about ads, and some old post in old threads already have the full cover about it, alongside all the rants about "Why TPB had a Porn ads, remove it please so my 8 yrs old child can access and download MLP porn" kind of issues.
