Surprised nobody mentioned Bill Clinton.
Is it because of his "relationship" with Monica Lewinsky?

My favorite would be FDR, he pulled through with his promise and act.
Abraham Lincoln is a strong contester as well. Kudos to the founding fathers.

I'm not north american but my fav would be Reagan.
He was a Hollywood industry product, a western movie actor, known to be not excellent, but popular. He was silly, really. Guess he started the trend, even not being the first. He survived the shooting, breaking another trend. He had a wife that added a lot to his term, nemesis to JFK's Jackie.

I believe Reagan's 1984 re-election was the most lopsided election EVER. Mondale ONLY won Minnesota - HIs home state.
Reagan was in red... ![]()

Roosevelt and Madison. The most good actions, the least bad ones, in my opinion.

That may mean a) Reagan was absolute success, b) Mondale was totally wrong candidate, c) It was a fraud, d) There was an error, e) the electing model has problems. As always, I am for all of the above. Nothing is perfect, but we should keep trying.

My problems with Clinton are NAFTA, and his willingness to recast the left/centrist Dem Party into a far right mold after Gingrich's putsch that turned the GOP into a a far right party--the party to get heavy campaign funds from the giant corporate lobbies. Clinton and his pals saw that as the future of the Dems as well, and he (and they) effectively killed the party that supported unions, women and minorities, and create Medicare, free legal support for minorities, inner city bloc grants, infrastructure work programs, 5 day work weeks, paid leave, black enfranchisement, and so much more.

FDR all the way. Im not american but I know my history. A couple of facts:
IF not for him, the alliance during WWII would have never happened, Churchill hated Stalin. But FDR knew the war was lost without Stalin inside the alliance. His plans for his last terms was universal free healthcare and education, AND open trade with soviet. Truman fucked all of that up and started the cold war. His new deal got USA out of the great depression and saved a great many lives. I dont get the love reagan gets. Gorbatjov ended the cold war. Not Reagan. What reagan did was pave the way for the financial crisis of 2007 by deregulating the financial sector, while creating an economy of working poor. Its called reaganomics. His conspirator in Europe was Thatcher. They both did more damage to western socio economics than any western leader of the 20th century. Curious fact: obesity epidemics arose in USA and Brittain during the years of their reign. In the new working poor classes. Next time you see a fat lady at wallmart on a mini scooter, thank Reagan. Also, for a run down of the covert war crimes commited by american presidents since WWII refer to this torrent: https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4856334...hic_novels
