Spending $40,000 to feel good for a few moments... Why can't they just spend it on drugs and prostitutes like everyone else?

This will have a knock on effect for other countries in Europe, as governments scramble to get the new domains blocked - resulting in more money-wasting. It'll be like a mexican wave through all the courts.
tpb.se is normally blocked for me, but with the .se domain gone, I can now access tpb using the new domains .gd etc If for example, you live in the UK and usually use a proxy, you should have no problems accessing tpb now: https://thepiratebay.gd as well the other domains .mn .la .am .gs and .vg Nice one Ingblad - it cost $40k to get rid of two poxy letters, now all the other stupid morons who can't wait to bend over for the man, will now go and waste other taxpayers money to play catch up. That's not just shooting yourself in the foot, that's going full retard.

The next time, I hope they can sail into the heavens to drop atomic grenades into Ingblad's office one day.

It's an interesting new strategy for TPB: using up "ammo" at a faster rate to cause the enemy to expend their resources quicker covering a wider field of fire. No doubt a direct result of the loosening of the tld system (which means TPB is suddenly at much less risk of running out of places to go).
No doubt this means the MPAA will be suing ICANN next, for facilitating copyright infringement. Should be fun. Just for interest, the list of new domain applications: https://gtldresult.icann.org/application...viewstatus [It doesn't mean they will come, just gives an idea of what people have already put money on.]
