I guess it is safe to assume that we will not be seeing any new episodes due to the writers' strike. Does anyone know for sure?

I don't know for sure about "new", but I am sure they have many episodes in the can. The riffs are completed long before they are released.

I would guess that RiffTrax is not a union shop. That isn't a dig, they're just not big enough. Probably Bill is a member from past work, so maybe he's sitting out.

Hmm, could be! I was thinking about it because one live episode (summer shorts?), they brought the entire production staff, and specifically said something about "the writers".

I doubt the strike concerns them.  If their self-described business model is accurate, there's no entity they could be in contention with.  They are self-contained, with nobody upstream, from-which, to demand additional monies.  WE (their customers) pay their salaries with our purchases and donations.  I suppose there could be some upstream content providers- that halt operations, meaning Rifftrax couldn't handle some of the back-end business (don't go there!) that makes producing riffs possible.  Otherwise, I'd say having US as their boss...is a bit more stable in terms of revenue streams.  As long as they keep us laughing, the cash flows.
