the safest way to deal with viruses:

uploaders with colored skulls (green, pink, blue) have been uploading on TPB long enough to be considered safest.

using a little bit of caution on your part can go a long way to keeping your computer virus free such as avoiding torrents from suspicious users (new users, new torrents with a large amount of downloaders, users who have uploaded a large number of new torrents in a short amount of time). Also, torrents that seem too good to be true such as early releases of programs or movies that aren't available publicly yet (with the exception of screeners or camera rips).

also, the community and TPB moderators are fairly quick at reporting and removing questionable torrents.

in fact, if you find one, report it here: https://pirates-forum.org/Forum-Report-T...s-Comments

we also have a faq that you can read here: https://pirates-forum.org/Thread-FAQs-Fr...-Questions

This nifty piece of software for poor windozers (with good reasons to be paranoid) used to be in a sticky FAQ on the old SB: https://www.sandboxie.com/ - use it run test run any executable out of harms way - or run a virtual machine for the same purpose -> https://www.virtualbox.org/

That being said, media files like images, videos, music can't give you any virus (with the exception of the windows media player phone home for codec exploit and embedded executable code in PDFs).

There have been masses of sporge filled withmediaa files that are boogers, but actually .lnk files that look like videos.
In WIN apparently these days,.LNK is an executable.

Also etexts with .exes.

Be aware that a skull can be hacked. Just look for sporges of identical sized files posted. A dead giveaway.
Photoshop at 8.08Mb? Really?

Do NOT rely on AV software. A real booger is not possted unless its been tested against all known scanners.
As noted above, Sandboxie is the only reliaable waay to see what the booger does. However, the better quallity nasties will shut down if they see a single core. Ifusing ina vm give aat lleast 2 cores.
