UK solar developer unveils massive green hydrogen, solar project in Australia
#1
UK-based solar project developer Eco Energy World (EEW) today said it plans to connect a new 200-MW green hydrogen plant to a 300-MW solar farm it will build in Australia.

The project, which is one of the biggest green hydrogen and solar developments in the world, is located in Raglan, Queensland. The solar farm, developed and owned by EEW, is in a shovel-ready state and will be used to power the green hydrogen plant, which will produce 33,000 tonnes of hydrogen annually.

The development will also include 100 MW of energy storage capacity.

The project is expected to be worth roughly AUD 0.5 billion (USD 39bn/EUR 0.32bn) in total. Construction is expected to begin as early as the third quarter of 2022.

According to EEW chairman Svante Kumlin, the existing gas pipeline infrastructure, a deep-water export port and solar resources make Queensland a very attractive location for the production of hydrogen.
